I’m learning sign language and seeking a certification in sign language interpretation. I’m desperately seeking Deaf or hard-of-hearing friends to talk with via skype to improve my knowledge of the Deaf culture and also to improve my signing skills. Jewelry and More?

As of right now I have a crazy amount of jewelry still to sell, so I will not be making more until my stock sells or I get some custom orders. I will however be selling and making appliques—which are fucking amazing. I made an applique of an xbox controller for a good friend and I’ll be posting a picture soon.

Why the Wonderland Theme?

I was thinking recently as I did more sketches (yes I also sketch) about my fascination with all things Wonderland and it one thing lead to another and I came to realize and accept this.

Wonderland is my life and yet is not. Our world, is just as complicated, frightening, topsy-turvy, confusing, magical, surprising and amazing as Wonderland yet it lacks the fun, the adventure, the transparency of it all. We have to be aware, open our eyes and realize the complexities of our world, Wonderland is all of those things on the surface and so much more beneath. We identify with Alice because we’ve all been lost, more than likely in the non-physical sense. Mostly as teenagers or young adults we’ve all felt lost like we don’t know who we are, (like Alice searching for her true identity rather than being “Just Alice”). We’ve felt as though we were strangers in our own lives, that everything and everyone around us had gone completely mad.

I have always lived a little out of sync with reality( like many other artists  and writers) and I feel I identify strongly with Wonderland. It’s a world much like Oz (Baum’s Oz) that has become so ingrained in people’s consciousness it has taken on a life of it’s own—grown expanded and evolved with it’s readers.

My Wonderland pieces aim to bring that little bit of fantasy, of wonder, of strength to people in our reality. Let me know your opinions on Wonderland, and what kind of Wonderland themed pieces you’d like to see.
